My new show...

I'm back on the blog...for anyone who reads these.

For those that don't know, HOW TO MAKE IT IN AMERICA is a new series on HBO. I'm feel'in this show! It's about two guys in NY on their grind trying to make their dream a reality. I can relate to both of the main characters on so many levels...it's crazy. The show is all about their hustle. Not only does it remind me of myself, but their fictional story is similar to that of the real stories of the individuals in the I AM A DREAM CHASER documentary. The doc is on point! After a shoot we had recently, it really hit me hard that we have something special here. I've kept pushing to get it shot and now we're about to wrap soon!

So whatever your passion, go after it. And catch the show if you get a chance.

Avatar...all the right movie elements

I know it's been out for awhile... but I'm feelin this movie. STRONG filmmaking. I came across this interview with James Cameron and just thought I'd post it.

Sade- The Making of Her Album

I like when artists let you into their world and you see a glimpse of their reality. I think all artists can relate to each other on some level... a familiar connection. I feel what Sade's saying in regards to creating a new project. There are definitely some similarities between making music and making a film. I like raw behind the scenes video like this. Check it.

Even the BIG Directors too...

The Hollywood Reporter did an interview called "Roundtable: The Directors". It features some heavy hitters who are the ones to watch during this awards season. Check out this clip from the interview below. It's cool to hear that even the BIG directors can be apprehensive or uncertain about how to execute something. But they figure it out. I've experienced that on some levels with this documentary I'm working on now... but hey, I worked it out. It's just part of the game.

The Rebel

Rebel : To feel or express strong unwillingness, To refuse allegiance to and oppose by force, To resist or rise against some authority, control, or tradition.

I'm feeling like this book cover now... (Great read for those filmmakers out there!) As I get closer to the end of filming this documentary, I feel like I'm doing several things myself. I'm determined to get the job done, whatever it takes, an unwillingness to waiver from my vision. I'm going to be entering post production soon (the edit) and things look really GOOD!

Recently, I even got a chance to talk with Jennifer Hudson and get footage of her during a Derek Blanks photo shoot.

So she'll have an appearance in the film. Good stuff!
