Diddy Dirty Money

I really like the whole concept and vibe behind Diddy Dirty Money. It has potential, if they don't drop the ball...especially on live performances. Some people are frowning at it. But if you've heard some of the album and checked out the campaign for the album, it's actually kind of cool and creative...different sound, look, feel. Check out the trailer for their new video which is coming soon. Directed by Colin Tilley...a beast. Watch out for him.

The Grind continues. I finished the music video for "Dream Chaser" by Delonda. It's the the theme song for the documentary...LOOKS GOOD...will premiere soon. Still editing the doc also.

Singer/ Songwriter Delonda on the set of "Dream Chaser" music video

Haven't been on the blog lately...been busy working. On what you ask? Well, just finished shooting a music video for Singer/Songwriter Delonda. The video is for the song "Dream Chaser" which is the the theme song for my documentary "I Am A Dream Chaser" (shout out to producer IG who did the HOT track). The music video will be coming soon, as well as the doc's trailer. I'm still in post production on the doc too. Also, I've been working on some commercials for some businesses...man!

Jack as MJ

"Jack as MJ" is an entertaining short film that features impersonator Jack Perez performing as Michael Jackson to the song "Dangerous". I directed, shot, and edited the piece. Shout out to Quintessence who helped on the shoot...also Matthew Head who did a great job on the score which you hear at the beginning and end.

JD - Living The Life

I always check out Jermaine Dupri's "Living The Life" on youtube. It gives a behind the scenes look of him...basically... living his life. It's interesting to me to see other creative minds do their thing. I respect all of the stuff that JD has accomplished...and he's still going hard, making things happen. He really understands how to use the new social media out there to his advantage too. I'm taking notes. Anyway, check out his latest video. He's got a new mix tape coming that might bring the HEAT.

I directed a music video yesterday. It's been a real long time since I've done a music video. I love the creativity that comes with doing these projects and I've been itching to jump back on the scene. This time I'm bringing more knowledge to the table and attacking the genre with a new approach. Feels like I'm back again for the first time. Shout out to the artist "D.Golder" The footage is HOT.

Like this video. It utilizes the basic elements of a music video. Nice shots, Nice Tints, Nice flow. The way it's shot and edited you really feel the energy of Diggy. It's captures the pure essence of making a music video, an art form that has kind of been lost due to some directors putting too much superficial crap in videos. Simple but effective with an old school flavor... and on top of that, Diggy has some skills.

I'm about to do a music video that's going to be incorporated in the DREAM CHASER doc. I got to make sure I capture that energy too.

My new show...

I'm back on the blog...for anyone who reads these.

For those that don't know, HOW TO MAKE IT IN AMERICA is a new series on HBO. I'm feel'in this show! It's about two guys in NY on their grind trying to make their dream a reality. I can relate to both of the main characters on so many levels...it's crazy. The show is all about their hustle. Not only does it remind me of myself, but their fictional story is similar to that of the real stories of the individuals in the I AM A DREAM CHASER documentary. The doc is on point! After a shoot we had recently, it really hit me hard that we have something special here. I've kept pushing to get it shot and now we're about to wrap soon!

So whatever your passion, go after it. And catch the show if you get a chance.

I know it's been out for awhile... but I'm feelin this movie. STRONG filmmaking. I came across this interview with James Cameron and just thought I'd post it.

Sade- The Making of Her Album

I like when artists let you into their world and you see a glimpse of their reality. I think all artists can relate to each other on some level... a familiar connection. I feel what Sade's saying in regards to creating a new project. There are definitely some similarities between making music and making a film. I like raw behind the scenes video like this. Check it.

Even the BIG Directors too...

The Hollywood Reporter did an interview called "Roundtable: The Directors". It features some heavy hitters who are the ones to watch during this awards season. Check out this clip from the interview below. It's cool to hear that even the BIG directors can be apprehensive or uncertain about how to execute something. But they figure it out. I've experienced that on some levels with this documentary I'm working on now... but hey, I worked it out. It's just part of the game.

The Rebel

Rebel : To feel or express strong unwillingness, To refuse allegiance to and oppose by force, To resist or rise against some authority, control, or tradition.

I'm feeling like this book cover now... (Great read for those filmmakers out there!) As I get closer to the end of filming this documentary, I feel like I'm doing several things myself. I'm determined to get the job done, whatever it takes, an unwillingness to waiver from my vision. I'm going to be entering post production soon (the edit) and things look really GOOD!

Recently, I even got a chance to talk with Jennifer Hudson and get footage of her during a Derek Blanks photo shoot.

So she'll have an appearance in the film. Good stuff!
